The best southern style hotdogs hands down in the area...maybe even the best hotdogs in North Carolina! Walking into Ashworth's is like stepping back into time. The staff is friendly and nice, and the prices are so great that you'll forget it's 2024! Daily specials keep this place crowded. I come here every time I'm in the area. I love it!!
Great place for a quick, inexpensive lunch, reminiscent of the classic lunch counters from the 50's and 60's (not that that I was around then!). They are famous for their hot dogs, which are delicious, but make sure you get a lemonade or orangeade as well. They are made by hand to order.
Tiny drugstore with tiny lunch counter. A Town of Cary institution. Sat and Wed special 2 hot dogs for $4. Veggie, beef or Jesse Jones dogs. Go for the classic Carolina red hot dog with Jesse Jones. We do mustard, slaw, and chili. Take a block over and enjoy at the Pharmacy or Bond Brothers for dog and beer.
Simple drug store counter hot dogs. Has that hometown downtown draw. Nothing special with the dogs, just quality. Slaw was cold and the chili was hot.
I go to the counter for food. The hotdogs are okay and the egg salad is not the best as it has not flavor at all. I love the small town charm of Downtown Cary so I stop in often but am not ever 100% satisfied. The counter employees are not always friendly but I guess it's just their personality...I'm not sure. Its cute and quaint though.
