I have been a customer at Knightdale Pharmacy for 5+ years after being fed up of CVS! I’ve loved every minute of having such a reliable and customer oriented pharmacy! Such a Small Business with Amazingly Big Impact served with a smile!

I see such high ratings, but that has not even remotely been my experience with this pharmacy. I've tried to go to this pharmacy four times over the last ten years...
2014... Had a controlled medication that was out of stock across the street at target, they filled it but asked if my doctor could call in a different kind of medicine next time because my insurance was paying them so little they were losing money giving it to me. Nice. I felt for them, remembered to try again later with changed meds. I also offered to pay full price (I do alright, it wasn't a big deal money wise) but they said they legally had to take a larger amount.
2016... Tried to refill ADHD meds, had my wife drop it off. I guess it was too soon or something, so they called my doctor and told them they thought I was doctor shopping (whatever the heck that is). They also called and said it was too soon. I had to get a drug test at my doctors office, billed to my account, which came back as expected. I also had to meet with the practice owner and sign something saying I was not selling medication or taking too much. I was not, but I was a bit offended by both parties since they were both very rude about if and implied guilt.
2020... My regular medication was not in stock anywhere, I called to ask if they have it in stock. They were very rude and said no with outright disdain, they did not "ever order this medication" — it wasn't crack or something, not even controlled, or even for a more personal condition, it was for organ rejection after organ transplant. Classy, Knightdale Pharmacy, very classy.
2023... Ninth year, last try. Again, out of meds and my medication was officially on the FDA shortages list and no one had it. Not sure what I was smoking at the time (joke), but I tried to call good ol' Knightdale Pharmacy. This medication was, again, not controlled. I'm not sure if they have a phone number of shame database or something listing me as a bad apple (I'm not, and that was proven true), but they told me in the same way that they did not have my medication in stock and never ordered it. The distain was almost palpable even over the phone. You'd think I'd robbed the place or something...
Message to owner — you are by far my least favorite business in town (I don't hold grudges as a rule, you're kind of the exception). And if you've read above, I'd say you rather earned that. I'm sure you're a reasonable person in your heart and you've been "burned" by bad apples before or something, but I never tried to do anything shady when dealing with you, only trying to patronize you at least once to repay the medicine you "sold at a loss" all those years ago. Today, once again, I'm out of an important medication I need to stay alive, and I would rather go without than call you again. I think you should change lines of work or at least develop some compassion for your customers. And maybe tell your staff not to hate on people calling to ask if you have meds in stock, the situation here was super broken.

Excellent customer service in a super friendly environment. The pharmacist and staff went out of their way to call my doctor, confirm insurance, and communicate with me to ensure that I got my medication promptly. I would recommend this pharmacy to any and everyone. The large chain stores should not have a monopoly. Shop local!

Terrible communication and customer service. I had a prescription sent here over two weeks ago. They called the same day to say they had reached back out to my doctor to obtain insurance authorization. A week later, nothing had happened. I contacted my doctor directly and got it authorized; they never received anything from the pharmacy. Called the pharmacy back last week. They said insurance went through that time, but they had to order the medication. Okay, cool, no big deal, I'm a pretty reasonable person. Called again today, and they're apparently unable to obtain the medication and didn't bother to let anybody know. Did it not occur to anyone there to 1) verify that you carry a medication when you receive a prescription, and 2) actually inform your customer that your pharmacy is unable or unwilling to carry the medication? I thought going to a locally owned pharmacy would result in better customer service, but I guess there just isn't a good pharmacy in Knightdale. 🤷🏻♂️ I'm more than willing to look past miscommunications around insurance authorizations, but it seems like someone could've told me weeks ago that the medication wasn't available in this pharmacy. It's not necessary to contact a patient's doctor or insurance if the pharmacy doesn't carry the product anyway. I could have had the prescription redirected to a proper pharmacy in Raleigh weeks ago instead of wasting my time and my doctor's time playing these games.
